About our Pantry
Our food pantry is located in Troy, where we serve families a monthly three-day/three meals per day package of basic staples, meat, fresh produce, loaves of bread and bakery items, and milk for everyone in the family. Families can return weekly for bread and produce. Also available are non-food items such as diapers, toiletries, personal hygiene items, household cleaning supplies, and pet food.
Volunteers
The lifeline of our pantry is the hard work and dedication of our volunteers who work the pantry daily, stock shelves, pack bags, welcome our clients, unload trucks, run to the RFB to pick up fresh produce, or to Hannaford to receive their generous donations. They do it all with a smile and make everyone who comes through our doors leave feeling they were treated with respect. If you're interested in joining our crew, call or email Sherri.
Funding
Our major source of funding is provided by our HPNAP grant via our Regional Food Bank account. Additional help is also provided by The Food Pantries for the Capital District, Broadview, Wynantskill Hannaford, and Emergency Food & Shelter Grant funding. Donations come from generous donors interested in making sure none of their neighbors go hungry and by way of numerous food drives and fundraisers held for our benefit by local businesses, office groups, schools, churches, and civic groups.
Donations
Donations of non-perishable food and personal care items are ALWAYS welcome and needed. Please drop them off at the food pantry at 520 Pawling Ave any weekday between 9:30-11:45am, Thursday evenings from 5-7pm, or the last Saturday of each month from 9:30-11:45am.
